Warner Bros. and producer Jerry Weintraub have set a July 21 start date for Ocean’s Thirteen, and Ellen Barkin is the pic’s new leading lady. Filming will take place primarily on five soundstages on the WB lot in Burbank, where a fully operational casino will be built. The first Ocean’s film was shot at the Bellagio in Las Vegas, the sequel in Europe, but it became too arduous to shoot a movie around the gambling traffic in a real casino, producer Jerry Weintraub said....

Olivia Wilde and Beau Garrett are the first to join TR2N, director Joseph Kosinski’s sequel to the 1982 Disney cult classic, Tron. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sean Bailey is producing along with Steven Lisberger, who co-wrote and directed the original film, and Jeff Silver. The original, about a programmer thrust into a computer and forced to fight in games he helped create, is remembered for its sci-fi gladiator-style battles and groundbreaking special effects....

Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds was just released today on DVD, two-disc special edition DVD and Blu-ray, but last night Tarantino decided to have one last theatrical screening for the fans before this DVD/BD release. We hit the red carpet last night at the New Bevery Cinema in Los Angeles and one of the actors we talked to was Omar Doom, who plays PFC. Omar Ulmer, and is no stranger to Tarantino and his work, having appeared in Tarantino’s last film, Death Proof....

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Dominic Purcell is set to star in Primeval, a killer-crocodile thriller that would serve as the feature debut of veteran television director Michael Katleman for Touchstone Pictures. Orlando Jones also has signed on to the movie, which is being produced by Gavin Polone and his Pariah shingle. The high-stakes adventure follows a news producer, reporter and cameraman who are dispatched to South Africa to track down and bring home alive a legendary 25-foot crocodile known as Gustave....

Netflix’s latest addition to the Resident Evil franchise arrived on the platform this week in the form of an eight episode series that re-imagines the popular game franchise. The cast of Littlemouth, a sci-fi mystery, has been announced. Isabelle Fuhrman and Dennis Quaid will play the leading roles, joined by David Thewlis, Josh Hutcherson, and Kiera Allen. Jonathan Sobol both wrote and directed the movie. Nicholas Tabarrok is producing alongside William G. Santor and Doug Murray, the latter of whom work for Productivity Media. Pirates of the Caribbean, ARMAGEDDON, National Treasure and Top Gun are all huge blockbusters with one theme in common, Jerry Bruckheimer. Now, as reported by DEADLINE, the blockbuster king will be producing a live-action movie with Paramount based on the popular toy franchise Beyblade. The film is in early development, but the Transformers studio will likely be considering franchise potential given the popularity of the toys, which have sold hundreds of millions of units....

Marvel stars Charlie Cox and Tom Hiddleston had a little bit of fun and flipped the script this Halloween. The Daredevil and Loki stars have been part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe for some time now, albeit in very different ways. Walt Disney Pictures is following in Fox’s footsteps from yesterday by adjusting its 2013 release calendar. First up is Lone Ranger, with Disney settling on a May 31, 2013 release. Yesterday we reported Lone Ranger will start production on February 6, 2012. As of now, Lone Ranger is the only movie scheduled for release on May 31, 2013. Disney has also pushed Thor 2 from July 26, 2013, to November 15, 2013....

If you’ve been waiting for M3GAN to get its digital release, that day has come, and much earlier than expected. On Tuesday, the hit horror film was released by Universal and Blumhouse for rental or purchase on PVOD. Per Collider, you can purchase a digital copy for $24.99 while renting the film will run a bit cheaper at $19.99. There had been no prior announcement that M3GAN would be getting a digital release so soon, coming less than three weeks after the movie’s release in theaters earlier this month....

In Marvel’s somewhat distant plans, Ironheart is set to bring a new Iron Avenger fully into the MCU and new rumors have suggested the Disney+ series will have a very tenable link to where the Marvel Universe began; Iron Man. The latest information on the series from The Illuminerdi has hinted that the main villain of the show could be none other than the son of Obadiah Stane, played by Jeff Bridges, who became Iron Monger in 2008’s first MCU movie....

Disney Channel has ordered Marvel’s Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur, an original animated series based on Marvel’s hit comic books, from Disney Television Animation. Executive produced by Laurence Fishburne and Helen Sugland’s Cinema Gypsy Productions (ABC’s Black-ish), Marvel Animation & Family Entertainment, and Emmy® Award-winner Steve Loter (Disney’s Kim Possible), the series follows the adventures of 13-year-old super-genius Lunella Lafayette and her ten-ton T-Rex, Devil Dinosaur. After Lunella accidentally brings Devil Dinosaur into present-day New York City via a time vortex, the duo works together to protect the city’s Lower East Side from danger....

During his time in the MCU, Chris Evans starred as Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, in eight movies in total. A beacon of goodness, the Marvel hero always carried himself with charisma, presence, and morality. Of course, Steve also had a degree of sass, sarcasm, and wit that gave him dimension — and, for that matter, won fans over. Now that Evans is done with the MCU, we’re excited to see how Sam Wilson’s Captain America will evolve and compare further in the franchise....
