Film from ABC’s hit show Lost was ruined when security employees at the Honolulu International Airport accidentally X-rayed the canisters despite warnings labels asking them not to, according to The Honolulu Advertiser The show’s crew had to re-shoot the scenes because there were no copies. “This is the first time anything like this has happened,” said state Film Commissioner Donne Dawson, adding that steps have been taken to prevent a repeat of the incident....

Mandeville Films’ partners David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman announced today that Mandeville and Top Cow Productions will join forces to produce a feature film version of Top Cow’s comic book Crosshair. Mandeville learned of the project of the eve of San Diego’s Comic-Con, and, after extensive negotiations, closed the deal over the weekend to adapt the comic to the big screen. Created by Marc Silvestri, written by Jeff Katz, and illustrated by Silverstri and Allan Jefferson, Crosshair follows a former CIA assassin turned suburban superdad who faces his most dangerous enemy ever - himself....
In development since 2017, the U.S. adaptation of the acclaimed Swedish comedy, A Man Called Ove, is finally moving forward with Marc Forster (World War Z, Finding Neverland, The Kite Runner). Hollywood icon Tom Hanks has been attached to the project ever since its announcement and will play the lead role. Hanks and his wife, Rita Wilson, will also serve as producers on the film. The currently untitled remake is based on the 2012 novel A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman....

CBS is bringing back Neil Simon’s classic comedy The Odd Couple, with Matthew Perry on board to produce and co-write the pilot script, as well as star. The actor will play the messy sportswriter Oscar Madison in this modernized story, although it isn’t known who will play Oscar’s neat-freak roommate Felix Unger yet. The multi-camera comedy project received a script commitment from CBS, with Matthew Perry and Mad About You co-creator Danny Jacobson writing the script....

Mike Newell is in talks to direct We first reported on this project last May, when Ridley Scott signed on to direct. When Fox picked up The Mindy Project, created by The Office star Mindy Kaling, it was believed that her character, Kelly Kapoor, would no longer be a fixture in the Dunder Mifflin office. Today, we have word that the actress has inked a deal to appear in at least two episodes of The Office Season 9. It isn’t known when she will come back to the show, since she serves as the star, writer, and executive producer on The Mindy Project, debuting September 25 on Fox....
Mission: Impossible 8 director Christopher McQuarrie has hinted at a possible resurrection for Henry Cavill’s Mission: Impossible - Fallout villain, August Walker AKA John Lark (and his glorious moustache), in the upcoming action movie sequel. Despite Cavill’s burly CIA agent being seemingly very, very dead come the movie’s end, McQuarrie has now stated that there is “no such thing as death” in the Mission: Impossible movies, leaving the door ajar for Walker to, well, walk back into the franchise....
Despite having one of the highest ratings of any series to ever stream on Netflix, Warrior Nun has become the latest show to bite the dust and will not be renewed for a third season. Warrior Nun has pulled in some impeccable reviews from its dedicated fan base but audience volumes have not been enough to allow the series to continue. The show only remained in the Top Ten for three weeks and did not make it higher than #5, which in terms of Netflix’s cost-vs-viewers consideration is just not good enough....

David Letterman is out of retirement and returning to television with a six-episode, 60-minute Netflix talk show series, My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman. The first episode will stream on Friday, January 12, and a new episode will be made available each subsequent month in 2018 for Netflix subscribers. Dave’s lineup of influential guests includes George Clooney, Malala Yousafzai, Jay-Z, Tina Fey, Howard Stern and President Barack Obama....
The superhero sequel X-Men: Apocalypse is not exactly looked back upon as one of the better superhero movies of recent years, but its titular star, Oscar Isaac, remains happy with the experience. In the film, released in 2016, Isaac plays Apocalypse, an ancient mutant awakened in 1983 with renewed plans to take over the world. Of course, it’s up to the X-Men to put a stop to these plans. X-Men: Apocalypse had reviews that were a bit of a mixed bag, and Isaac would agree that the film has its problems....
