Viva Laughlin star Lloyd Owen has signed on as the lead in Fox’s one-hour pilot Inseparable. The casting lifts the contingency on the project, which is in consideration for midseason. The Hollywood Reporter stated that Inseparable is a modern-day Jekyll-and-Hyde tale from ABC Studios and writer/exec producer Shaun Cassidy, and is about a partially paralyzed forensic psychiatrist (Owen) with a split personality whose alter ego is a charismatic criminal. Inseparable is the second contemporary Jekyll-and-Hyde split-personality drama in the works at the broadcast networks for next season....

The grand return of J.R.R. Tolkien’s Middle-Earth to screen with Prime Video’s The Rings of Power wasn’t quite what fans had hoped it would be. While the overall visual presentation of the world and the various peoples that inhabit it was a pleasure to watch every week, the weak writing and lack of faith in the source material left a lot of fans disappointed in the first season of the new show....

With Lori Loughlin hoping to put the past behind her and make amends for her involvement in 2019’s college admissions scandal, the actress has donated $500,000 to pay the college tuition fees for two students. That amount is not coincidental, as Loughlin and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, paid that amount to have their two daughters unlawfully admitted to the University of Southern California. Loughlin served two months in prison with Giannulli having served five, with both also ordered to pay $400,000 worth of fines....

According to a new report from The Hollywood Reporter (via ScreenRant), Marvel Studios has been using a stringent nomenclature to define the status and significance of character appearances in films, which directly affect the comic creators’ pay. Per contractual obligations, Marvel Studios must pay comic book creators some royalty fees to use their respective creations in its Marvel Cinematic Universe films. For instance, every Spider-Man appearance in a movie will account for separate fees owed to Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, who wrote and created Spider-Man....

In a story from Deadline Hollywood, Michael Bay is quite skeptical of upconverted 3D films and he’s voicing his opinion about it. It looks like after the enormous success of Avatar, Paramount Pictures wants the director to transfer Transformers 3 into the very popular format. However, Bay did look into shooting some of the film in 3D but he found the 3D cameras “too heavy and cumbersome” for the kinds of fast pace movies he shoots....

Well, according to IGN, Mike Vogel is also up for the role. Vogel can currently be seen in Paramount’s Cloverfield, and the studio has apparently been hot on Vogel for some time now. Netflix announced today via Instagram that the critically-acclaimed, crime drama series Mindhunter will return for a second season. The show features Jonathan Groff (Looking), Holt McCallany (Sully), Anna Torv (Fringe), Hannah Gross (Unless) and newcomer Cameron Britton, who portrays serial killer Ed Kemper on the series, and has drawn raves for his performance. The well reviewed series is Certified Fresh with a 96% on Rotten Tomatoes, and was lauded by critics for its reinvention of the crime procedural, when it premiered in October, and now this Netflix renewal confirms a new season will officially happen....

Despite a second season renewal in May, HBO Max has decided not to move forward with Minx. The sitcom, starring Jake Johnson and Ophelia Lovibond, joins a list of cancelations that have resulted from the recent WarnerMedia and Discovery merger. While Minx’s future with the streamer is no more, there is still some hope that the series will live on, as Lionsgate, the studio behind Minx, is shopping the series to other platforms and networks....

Aaron Eckhart and AnnaSophia Robb have joined the cast of Pan, which puts a dark twist on the classic Peter Pan tale by J.M. Barrie. Aaron Eckhart and AnnaSophia Robb will portray Hook and Wendy, although they are not the same characters from the storybook. Hook is actually a modern-day detective, tormented by a kidnapper. Wendy is the lone survivor of this kidnapper, who leaves an asylum to help Hook track him down....

At present Paradox Entertainment is working on a Conan redo. The new comicbooks to be will focus on properties created by pulp author Robert E. Howard. He is responsible for such characters as Conan, Kull, Solomon Kane, Dark Agnes, El Borak, Cormac Mac Art and James Allison....
