Paramount+ has released the trailer for its upcoming family and action flick Secret Headquarters. The trailer reveals the Earth defender, played by Owen Wilson (Loki) is initially doing a good job of hiding his identity, as his son Charlie (Walker Scobell) believes his dad to be a wimp. All that changes after Wilson is called out on a mission and Charlie’s friends make a decision that leads them to discovering his “bat cave” hidden beneath the house and where all sorts of gadgets, suits and vehicles are stored....

The network is collaborating with top tier producers such as Lynda Obst, Working Title Television, Lionsgate Television, Escape Artists, September Films, Lovespell, Fox TV Studios, and New Line Television for a diverse mix of comedy and reality series and original films. A new petition on Change.org has been launched to ban the use of real firearms on movie and television productions along with “better crew working conditions,” and it’s quickly growing in popularity with more and more people adding their names to the list. Of course, this stems from last week’s deadly accident on the set of Rust which left director Joel Souza wounded and cinematographer Halyna Hutchins killed. As police investigate what happened, others are calling for no more real firearms on any more sets, as seen with the petition....

Fright Night director Craig Gillespie is officially set to direct Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, finalizing a deal we first reported on a few weeks ago. David O. Russell was originally set to direct Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, and Mike White also signed on as director before leaving the project earlier this year. There was also talk last month that Seth Grahame-Smith, who wrote the Pride and Prejudice and Zombies novel and adapted the screenplay, was being considered to direct....

Pterodactyl Prods. and 300 producer Mark Canton are teaming to revive the Malibu heroine Gidget for the new millennium. According to Variety, Pterodactyl’s Barney Cohen inked a deal with licensor Gidget Worldwide to develop the property for the bigscreen and smallscreen. As a lifestyle brand, Gidget has enjoyed something of a global revival in recent years, spanning apparel, accessories, sportswear, surfboards, bikes, skateboards and a Gidget Surf School. Launched in a 1957 novel, Gidget spawned several movies, TV series and telepics, and launched the careers of Sandra Dee and Sally Field....

New Line Cinema has officially greenlit production on The Golden Compass, the highly anticipated adaptation of the first of author Philip Pullman’s bestselling “His Dark Materials” trilogy, it was announced today by New Line Cinema. Production on the $150 million-budgeted film is scheduled to begin September 4 in the UK, with Oscar-nominated writer/director Chris Weitz (About a Boy, Antz) at the helm. “The Golden Compass is the most ambitious film that New Line has undertaken since The Lord of the Rings trilogy, and we have assembled a remarkable creative team, headed by Chris Weitz, to bring it to fruition,” comment New Line’s Bob Shaye and Michael Lynne....

Paramount Pictures have always had their hands buried deep in the horror genre, and their Paramount Players label have been keeping up the tradition with recent releases including Paranormal Activity: The Next of Kin, and upcoming offerings of Orphan: First Kill and the Pet Sematary prequel among others. Now it looks like they are adding a remake of a classic creature feature of the 1980s, the iconic Pumpkinhead, to that list of in-development projects....

Paramount Home Media Distribution and IMAX announced today that the 1981 classic Raiders of the Lost Ark will be released in IMAX theaters for the first time, with a limited one-week engagement starting September 7. The studio also released a trailer for this special event, which leads into the Indiana Jones: The Complete Adventures Blu-ray set arriving September 18. Canadian actor Ryan Grantham, best known for playing Jeffery Augustine in Riverdale, has been sentenced to life in prison for killing his mother, CBC reports. The 24-year-old actor, whose credits include Riverdale, Supernatural, and Diary of a Wimpy Kid, was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for 14 years on Wednesday in British Columbia, Canada Supreme Court in Vancouver, approximately six months after pleading guilty to a second-degree murder charge for shooting his mom, Barbara Waite....

20-year old K.J. Apa, who portrays Archie on the hit CW show Riverdale, was involved in a late-night car crash last week after a particularly long day at work, which sparked an on set protest about safe working conditions. Apa reportedly fell asleep while behind the wheel during his 45-minute drive home from the set after midnight. He was taken to a local hospital for observation and later discharged without serious injuries....

Lowell Ganz told The Hollywood Reporter that he wrote a script for A League of Their Own prequel that never made it to production. The film’s screenwriter and original film actresses Geena Davis and Lori Petty were all interviewed for the film’s 30th anniversary. Tom Cruise will celebrate the U.S. premiere of M:i:III on May 3 at the Tribeca Film Festival with a full day of screenings and events throughout Manhattan as part of “Mission: NYC”. The Good This is one of those movies that can be watched many times. The Bad I wish the Deleted Scenes and Outtakes would have been cut together better. As they are, they are just a string of scenes. Made is essentially Swingers with money behind it. It is Jon Favreau’s idea of what Mafia life would be like if he and Vince Vaughn were in it. This tale of two friends sent to New York by a West Mafioso (Peter Falk) is full of the usual Vince Vaughn humor....

Manifest creator Jeff Rake has celebrated the show kicking off production on the fourth and final season of the sci-fi mystery drama, which this time only a few months ago seemed unlikely to ever make it to screens. Previously canceled by NBC, the series is about a set of passengers whose plane goes missing for five years, only to land after half a decade with all of the passengers not having aged and seemingly with new supernatural abilities....

Academy Award-winning actor Matthew McConaughey, a native of Uvalde, Texas, continues to give back to his hometown in the wake of national tragedy, People reports. McConaughey and his wife Camila Alves McConaughey quickly jumped to action in the wake of the horrific school shooting at Uvalde’s Robb Elementary School on May 24, which left 19 children and two adults dead. “Matthew and Camila McConaughey have been on the ground in Uvalde for the last few days since the mass shooting,” the duo’s Just Keep Livin Foundation wrote in a statement on their official website, announcing the creation of a Uvalde Relief Fund....
