The meeting teased a follow-up that would feature a battle between the two powerful characters along with establishing that Cavill was seemingly back and here to stay as the Man of Steel....

Marvel legend Joe Quesada has officially declared what we all knew: Jon Bernthal is the perfect actor to play The Punisher. Quesada, the Marvel Executive Vice President and Creative Director, discussed the character’s portrayal in the recent Netflix series with Marvel Entertainment and their most recent segment of Prop Store and called Bernthal the perfect choice for the skull-emblazoned antihero. You would be hard pressed to find many (if any) Punisher fans who disagree with Quesada’s endorsement of Jon Bernthal as Marvel’s violent vigilante....

Actor Matt Damon has secured a deal to make his directorial debut at Warner Bros. with an untitled drama project. The Office star John Krasinski co-wrote the script with Matt Damon, and will also star. The story centers on a salesman (Matt Damon) whose life gets upended when he arrives in a small town. It isn’t known what role John Krasinski will have, but it is said he came up with the original concept, which he developed with Away We Go author Dave Eggers....

The men’s magazine Maxim has hooked up with Screen Gems to launch a series of films much the same way National Lampoon has done in the past. According to Variety, the proper title of their first film will be Maxim’s Virginity Rocks. Melissa Carter is writing the screenplay, which revolves around a sexy transfer student who is a little too attached to her virginity. The popular stud of the school is urged by other students to end the girl’s “Virginity Rocks” campaign....

The Hulk, created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, was originally a character made for Marvel in the early-60s. The Hulk was the gamma-empowered form of Bruce Banner, who exposed himself to gamma radiation while trying to save a young man from a gamma bomb test. Banner has since been defined by a creature that he transforms into whenever he is angry, going on rampage when that happens. The Hulk in the MCU is a bit of a far cry from this origin, as Banner now has far more control over his Hulk side....

Melissa Joan Hart is a talented American actress, writer, producer, and director who has made a name for herself in the entertainment industry. Born on April 18, 1976, in Smithtown, New York, Hart began her acting career at a young age, appearing in her first commercial at just four years old. NEON’s upcoming horror flick Infinity Pool has been slapped with an NC-17 rating, but it may not stick. The film comes from Brandon Cronenberg, the son of genre legend David Cronenberg who’s recently been carving his own way in horror with movies like Antiviral and Possessor. Mia Goth, who can currently be seen on the big screen as the star of the X prequel Pearl, stars in Infinity Pool alongside Alexander Skarsgård (True Blood, The Northman)....

Tom Cruise’s quaternary effort as IMF super secret agent Ethan Hunt can be likened to eating a giant bag of jelly beans. You had fun while it lasted, found a few surprises, but are pretty sure you’ll never eat a jelly bean again afterwards. Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol is a nonsensical, dazzling jumble of wild action scenes and formulaic characters. You have the Russian baddie (Michael Nyqvist), the babe agent (Paula Patton), the nerdy tech guy that can fix anything (Simon Pegg), the misunderstood new guy (Jeremy Renner), and requisite world domination / nuclear war plot....

Bryan Fuller is currently busy bringing his new show Mockingbird Lane to life, a reboot based on the classic 1960s series The Munsters. The series’ creator/executive producer also revealed that the show will feature some monsters from classic Universal Pictures movies, such as The Wolf Man and Creature from the Black Lagoon. Here’s what he had to say in a recent interview, likening his use of these monsters to the Disney fairy tale characters in ABC’s Once Upon a Time....

Fans of the ABC sitcom Modern Family know very well that Sofía Vergara’s Gloria often speaks about her family in Brazil, although we have never met any of her relatives. That will change this season, with actresses Elizabeth Peña and Stephanie Beatriz signing on to guest star as Gloria’s mother and sister. The characters will appear in the 12th episode this season, entitled “Fulgencio”. NBC’s marketing in the digital arena takes a new turn as the network expands its corporate partnerships with National CineMedia, Nissan and Apple’s iTunes to cross-promote its new Fall drama Heroes by finding new ways to incorporate the products into scripts organically and offering consumers the chance to be the first to see the series. The announcement was made by John Miller, Chief Marketing Officer, NBC Universal Television Group. Beginning September 1st, iTunes will offer a free and exclusive download of Heroes - in its entirety - in addition to other bonus content from NBC, including series trailers and behind-the-scenes footage from the filming of “Heroes....

All three NCIS shows are coming together. Per Collider, it has been revealed that a three-way crossover event is coming to CBS in January. The three-hour, one-night event will focus on one murder mystery featuring characters from NCIS, NCIS: Hawai’i, and NCIS: Los Angeles. This will be the first time three different shows in the NCIS universe came together in such a big way. CBS executive VP of current programming Amy Reisenbach has teased the event as the “long-awaited, first-ever NCISverse crossover,” adding that the franchise’s creative teams “came up with a thrilling story for this epic three-hour event that creatively brings all three NCIS teams together for fans to enjoy in one night and beyond....

Netflix Inc. and Warner Bros. Television Group today announced a licensing agreement allowing U.S. Netflix members to enjoy complete previous seasons of addictive serialized dramas produced by Warner Bros. for top broadcast and cable networks. Among the shows coming to Netflix next year will be Revolution, a drama for NBC from J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot Productions set in a post-apocalyptic America which ranks as the #1 new series of the 2012-13 television season; Political Animals, the USA Network miniseries with Sigourney Weaver in a Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Award-nominated role as a former First Lady serving as Secretary of State; Longmire, A&E’s top-rated Western mystery series based on the novels by best-selling author Craig Allen Johnson; and 666 Park Avenue, the ABC supernatural thriller starring Terry O’Quinn and Vanessa Williams....

The full cast of the upcoming Bridgerton series, focusing on Queen Charlotte’s past, has been revealed by Netflix. The untitled limited series is based on the origins of the historical figure, centering on the rise and love life of a young Queen Charlotte while also focusing on Violet Bridgerton and Lady Danbury. Golda Rosheuval, Ruth Gemmell, and Adjoa Andoh will all be returning to reprise their respective roles from Bridgerton to help link the spinoff to the main series....

From Toy Faire Germany, advanced footage from Marvel’s upcoming films Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk has been glimpsed, revealing more about both productions. Ain’t It Cool News had someone on the scene, who provided his reports of the footage. Their spy says of Iron Man, “…we saw the scene in which Tony Stark tests his Iron Man suit for the first time (in his garage). Of course this almost goes wrong....

Legal troubles continue to mount for the actor of DC Comics’ fastest man alive. Ezra Miller, who stars in superhero films as the Flash, was arrested in Hawaii in March for a barroom brawl. Less than a month later, the actor was arrested again for throwing a chair at a female. Now, the New Jersey native is being accused of acts even more heinous. According to court documents filed Tuesday in Standing Rock Sioux Tribal Court and obtained by PEOPLE, attorney and activist Chase Iron Eyes and his pediatrician wife Sara Jumping Eagle allege that Miller has been manipulating and controlling their daughter Tokata Iron Eyes since the two met at Standing Rock Reservation in North Dakota back in 2016 when she was 12, and he was 23....

Disney’s live-action remake of Pinocchio arrived on Disney+ today, and already the film’s producer has been addressing the possibility of a sequel. While many of Disney’s greatest animated classics managed to do fine for decades without the hint of additional movies throughout the 1990s and 2000s, Disney started churning out follow-ups to the likes of The Lion King, Aladdin, and even classics like Cinderella and Bambi. Although Pinocchio was among those to receive a belated sequel, the live-action version could continue the story beyond the initial movie....
