MOVIEWEB VIDEO OF THE DAY

Party Down centers on a group of caterers working in Los Angeles. While chasing dreams of stardom, these six Hollywood wannabe actors and writers make ends meet by working for a posh LA catering company, which tackles a different event – senior singles mixer, porn awards after party, a Super Sweet 16 bash – in each episode.

Party Down stars a stellar cast of comedic actors, with many of them now some of the most recognizable faces in the comedy and sitcom game. Led by Adam Scott as Henry Pollard, a failed actor who returns to Party Down catering after giving up on the entertainment industry, the rest of the cast includes Ken Marino, Lizzy Caplan, Ryan Hansen, Martin Starr, Jane Lynch, Jennifer Coolidge, and Megan Mullally. Many of whom are all set to return for the revival.

The revival series of Party Down will add several big names to proceedings, with the likes of Jennifer Garner, Tyrel Jackson Williams, and Zoë Chao all set to feature as series regulars. X-Men and Enchanted star James Marsden will also feature in the series in a recurring role.

The Party Down Revival Will Debut in February Next Year

During its two-season run, Party Down was met with hugely positive reviews from critics. Sadly, as is so often the case in the cutthroat world of television, the viewership ratings for Party Down were low across the board, resulting in the sitcom being canceled. While there have been whispers of a return, with talk of a movie being mentioned, nothing ever came of it. Until now, of course.

Thus, the revival series of Party Down will run as a six-episode limited series courtesy of Starz. Originals series creators John Enbom, Rob Thomas, Dan Etheridge, and Paul Rudd (yes, that Paul Rudd) are all involved, with Enbom serving as showrunner.

“Before the cast of Party Down became well-known television and movie actors and award winners, they were all wearing the same pink bowties as part of a less than competent team of Los Angeles cater-waiters while chasing their dreams of stardom on the STARZ series,” Christina Davis, President of Original Programming for Starz, said in a statement. “Fans have been waiting more than 10 years for this revival to happen and we’re thrilled to be in development with Rob, Paul, Dan and John at the helm.”

So, once again, for those not paying attention, the Party Down revival series is scheduled to premiere on February 24, 2023.
