Paul Rudd has joined the third season cast of Only Murders in the Building, following his season two cameo. Rudd appeared in the season finale as Broadway star Ben Glenroy. It is unknown if Rudd will join the series as a regular, recurring or guest star. Only Murders in the Building stars Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez as three unlikely friends and neighbors who share a love of true crime. The series was renewed for a third season in July.

In a statement to Variety, series co-creator John Hoffman said:

Rudd made his acting debut in 1991, appearing in a Super Nintendo commercial. The following year, he appeared in the television drama series Sisters. His breakout role came in 1995 when he starred in the comedy classic Clueless, opposite Alicia Silverstone. Rudd later appeared in films including Wet Hot American Summer, Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, Knocked Up, This Is 40, Marvel’s Ant-Man, and The Fundamentals of Caring (co-starring Gomez), among others. His television credits include recurring roles on Friends, as Phoebe’s husband, and Parks and Recreation.

“Paul Rudd, after making an auspicious entrance into the world of our show at the end of Season 2 as Ben Glenroy, is someone we clearly want to know more about and see in our upcoming Season 3 — as he is a clear source of many upcoming questions and, as ever with our show, many twists yet to come!”
