The announcement comes ahead of the movie’s theatrical debut, scheduled for Oct. 13, 2023. The movie is scored by Emmy nom Pinar Toprak (Captain Marvel). Cal Brunker returns to direct after helming the first movie, reuniting with writing partner Bob Barlen.
“This year marks the 10th anniversary of the PAW Patrol franchise and what better way to celebrate than the release of our second feature film,” producer Jennifer Dodge, Spin Master’s President of Entertainment, said in a statement. “As we continue to expand the PAW Patrol universe for fans, we’ll follow the pups on mightier missions and explore their backstories, this time with a heartwarming tale centered around our heroine Skye. With this cast of dynamic voice talent, we’re bringing a whole new level of excitement to the big screen."
Ramsey Naito, President of Nickelodeon Animation and Paramount Animation, adds, “Following the historic success of the first film, which truly reinforced the global love for this franchise, we knew that this sequel called not only for an equally great story, but for world-class talent to bring these characters to life once again.”
PAW Patrol Gets Another Film
Nickelodeon
It’s not a shock to see the franchise get another movie. The first film opened up at No. 1 at the box office, even with a day-and-date release, garnering more than $150 million worldwide. It was also one of the most-watched titles on Paramount+, earning just as much success on streaming. It’s noted by Paramount that the movie has since been watched five times on average per subscriber household, which makes it one of the most popular films on Paramount+.
The official synopsis for PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie reads:
