Man of the hour Pedro Pascal has a big weekend coming up, as he’ll have many eyes on him on both Saturday and Sunday. After three acclaimed episodes, he’ll be back as Joel in the fourth episode of The Last of Us on HBO on Sunday evening. The night before, he’ll be performing live on NBC for his debut as guest host for Saturday Night Live, showing off his more humorous side. SNL acknowledges The Last of Us with a new promo for the Pascal-hosted episode, featuring the actor confronting a clicker on the sketch comedy show’s set. You can watch the promo below, via NBC.
This will be Pascal’s first time hosting, but it’s the seventh time musical guest Coldplay has performed on the show. Given the popularity of The Last of Us, it seemed more than likely that the show would be subject to a parody on SNL, though fans may not have expected to see Pascal already meeting clickers at SNL ahead of his debut on Saturday. Chances are there will be more of The Last of Us that gets spoofed in the new episode, along with a plethora of other sketches that will have Pascal playing much more comedic characters.

This promo for SNL comes as The Last of Us has been rising to quickly become one of today’s most popular shows. The video game adaptation has drawn very high viewership in addition to its acclaim, with the latter pushing the show up to become one of the highest-rated programs on IMDb. The series has been renewed for a second season so fans already know there will be more to come from Pascal as Joel.
A new poster has also just been released for the third season of The Mandalorian. Pascal stars in the Star Wars series and will be back in the anticipated season 3. The new season is one month away from its release, set to arrive on Disney+ on March 1. That comes just in time for fans to transition over from The Last of Us, which ends its first season on March 12.
Catch Pascal on Saturday Night Live when his episode airs on NBC on Feb. 4. It will be made available for streaming starting the next day on Peacock, along with past episodes of the sketch comedy show.
