Earlier today, The Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced the nominees for the 74th Annual Golden Globe Awards, which will take place Sunday, January 8 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, with Jimmy Fallon hosting this year’s awards ceremony. The Golden Globes are among the few awards shows that honor both movies and TV shows alike, and here separating the TV nominations. FX’s The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story lead all of the TV contenders with five nominations.

The People v. O.J.: American Crime Story is likely the front runner for Best Television Limited Series or Motion Picture Made For Television, going up against ABC’s American Crime, Starz’s The Dresser, AMC’s The Night Manager and HBO’s The Night Of. The People v. O.J. stars Sarah Paulson, Courtney B. Vance, Sterling K. Brown and John Travolta were also nominated for their performaces in this critically-acclaimed series. American Crime Story will be an anthology series with each season taking on a different true crime case. It has already been announced that Season 2 will follow the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

The nominations were announced this morning at the Beverly Hilton Hotel by Don Cheadle, Laura Dern and Anna Kendrick, who were joined by the previously-announced Miss Golden Globe trio, Sophia, Sistine and Scarlet Stallone, Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) President Lorenzo Soria and Executive VP of Television at dick clark productions, Barry Adelman.
