Last month, MovieWeb and other news sites announced that Disney+’s Percy Jackson series had found its title character in The Adam Project’s Walker Scobell. Today, Rick Riordan, author of the Percy Jackson & the Olympians series, announced on his website that the other two members of the trio have now been found as well.
Aryan Simhadri will be playing Grover Underwood. In the books, Grover is a satyr in charge of locating demigods, the children of the Olympian gods, and directing them to Camp Half-Blood before the various monsters of Greek Mythology can get them. Like the other members of his kind, Grover was also on a personnel mission to find Pan after it was announced that the God of the Wild was dead. Though a little shy and timid, Grover is a great friend and valuable ally. Simhadri, meanwhile, has recently starred in Disney+’s film Cheaper by the Dozen and in the Disney Channel Original Movie Spin. According to Riordan, Simhadri won the hearts of him and the other makers of the show during his audition.

The Trio is Complete
Leah Sava Jeffries will be playing Annabeth Chase, who in the books was one of the demigods who attended Camp Half-Blood. While Percy was the son of Poseidon, Annabeth was the daughter of Athena. With all the wisdom that implies, Annebeth assists Percy and Grover not only with her brains but a Yankee baseball cap that allows her to turn invisible. A celestial bronze dagger that Annabeth owns helps as well.
“He had me laughing out loud with his delivery and timing. He has a mixture of sweetness, humor and internal toughness that is perfect for our favorite satyr. Grover has some big flying shoes to fill, but Aryan is exactly the right guy for the job. He and Walker already have a great dynamic together. And the visual magic we will be using to give Aryan his satyr’s goat legs is next-level stuff. Wait until you see!”
Riordan himself got to welcome Scobell, Jefferies, and Simhadri to set when they assembled for the first time in Vancouver over the past week. According to Riordan, while they have a lot of hard work ahead of them, they also have a lot of fun. He could not wait to get started and wanted his readers to help welcome the three young actors to the Percy Jackson universe.
“Leah is exactly the way I imagined Annabeth in the books: smart, strong and courageous, a true daughter of Athena who has zero patience for the foolishness of a certain Seaweed Brain. Watching her act with Walker and Aryan, I saw Annabeth Chase come to life. As soon as you see her on the screen, you will know what I mean. The Wise Girl has arrived!”
“I promise that they will do you proud!”
