We finally have our first look at the upcoming Disney live action remake of Peter Pan courtesy of an exciting new teaser from Disney+. Titled Peter Pan & Wendy, the brief footage gives us a glimpse of Black Widow star Ever Anderson as Wendy Darling and Alexander Molony as Peter Pan. Peter Pan & Wendy is of course a remake of the 1953 Disney classic, Peter Pan, which remains the most successful adaptation of J.M. Barrie’s novel. So far, anyway. Thus, Peter Pan & Wendy is expected to follow similar beats as it tells the story of Peter Pan and his friend Tinker Bell, a fairy, who whisk away siblings Wendy, John and Michael to the island of Never Land, where Captain Hook seeks vengeance against Peter for cutting off his hand.

Based on this little snippet of footage, Peter Pan & Wendy will maintain a lot of the iconography of the animated outing, including the Edwardian nightshirts and Peter’s green, leafy ensemble. While further details regarding the live-action remake are largely unknown at present, actress Ever Anderson has revealed that Peter Pan & Wendy will develop the character of Wendy more than any adaptation before.
“It’s been really amazing to be able to play Wendy,” Anderson said earlier this year. “Disney has worked very hard to give her a lot more depth and a lot more character so that her and Peter are equals in this film, which I’ve found really amazing. So that’s what you guys will be able to see.”
Directed by David Lowery, Peter Pan & Wendy stars Alexander Molony as Peter Pan, the Neverland resident who never grows up, alongside Ever Anderson as Wendy Darling, the young girl whisked away from London with Peter to Neverland.
The rest of the cast includes Yara Shahidi as Tinker Bell, Jim Gaffigan as Mr. Smee, Alan Tudyk as George Darling, Molly Parker as Mary Darling, Joshua Pickering as John Darling, Jacobi Jupe as Michael Darling, Alyssa Wapanatâhk as Tiger Lily, Noah Matthews Matofsky Sebastian Billingsley-Rodriguez, Skyler and Kelsey Yates, Florence Bensberg, Caelan Edie, Diana Tsoy, Felix de Sousa as Lost Boys and Girl, and Jude Law as Captain Hook.
Disney+ Has a Lot to Offer in 2023

Peter Pan & Wendy is just one of several major projects due to land on Disney+ next year. As teased in the footage, the streaming service will have a lot to offer both Star Wars and Marvel fans, with the likes of Ahsoka and The Mandalorian Season 3 due to excite audiences alongside Secret Invasion starring Samuel L. Jackson, the Black Panther spinoff series Wakanda Forever, and the second season of Loki, which sees Tom Hiddleston once again reprise the role of the God of Mischief.
If that were not already enough to entice you, Disney+ will also debut Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 2, Win or Lose, The American Chinese, and much, much more.
Peter Pan & Wendy is set to premiere on Disney+ in 2023.
