It is customary for international leaders to present gifts to one another when one leader visits another leader’s country. According to The Daily Mail, British Prime Minister Gordon Brown recently visited United States President Barack Obama at the White House, and he came home with a set of DVD’s.

The site reported the DVD collection was put together by the American Film Institute as a “special request” that was put in by the White House last month.
Brown gave Obama an ornamental pen holder that was crafted from the oak of the HMS Gannet. The desk that has adorned the White House’s Oval Office was carved from the oak of the Gannet’s sister ship, the HMS Resolute. Obama also recevied a framed commission for HMS Resolute and a first edition of the seven-volume biography of Churchill by Sir Martin Gilbert.
