A new look has been released for Prime Video’s live-action series adaptation of Fallout. Based on the hit video game franchise, the series is currently in the works as seen in a video posted to YouTube by the streaming platform. The video, which you can check out below, takes us behind the scenes with some of the adaptation’s creative team sharing their thoughts on bringing the world of Fallout to life on the small screen.
“When we think about Fallout and its future, obviously, there will be games in the future. In the near future there’s something that’s brand new, that I’m super excited about, is the TV show,” says Bethesda’s Todd Howard, who serves as an executive producer, explaining how long it took to get the adaptation made.

Fallout series co-creator Tim Cain adds, “It’s fun to see. I’m glad that an IP that I helped make has grown and has turned into this franchise. I mean, we’re getting a TV show.”
Meanwhile, art director Istvan Pely says he’s been “blown away” by how much their original visions and designs have been recreated for the TV series. Jonathan Nolan, who co-created the Westworld series with Lisa Joy, serves as a director on Fallout. He can be seen on the set in the video immersing himself into the Fallout world.
“I’m not familiar with Fallout,” Nolan jokes when asked about the series before he’s given a Nuka Cola to drink from someone off-screen wearing power armor.
Nolan then professes how much of a fan he is of Fallout by stating, “Fallout, yes, the post-apocalyptic, humous, dark, bleak, brilliantly-written, annoyingly playable video game franchise.”

The cast includes Ella Purnell (Army of the Dead, Yellowjackets), Walton Goggins (The Righteous Gemstones), Kyle MacLachlan (Dune), Xelia Mendes-Jones (Sans Comic), and Aaron Moten (Father Stu). Nolan and Joy are developing the series for Prime Video and it’s been reported that Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner serve as showrunners.
Prime Video hasn’t yet set an official premiere date for Fallout.
