This Is to Celebrate 60 Years of James Bond Movies
Universal Pictures
Making every movie available to stream is part of the 60th anniversary celebration of James Bond movies. Also part of the celebration will be World Bond Day on Oct. 4 hosted by producers Barbara Broccoli and Micahel G. Wilson. Guest vocalists and various stars will be present to perform Bond themes curated by franchise composer David Arnold. After the charity concert, an exclusive recording of The Sound of 007: LIVE from the Royal Albert Hall will also be streamed on Prime Video; The Sound of 007 itself will start streaming on Oct. 5. Proceeds from the concert will benefit the music charities Nordoff Robbins and The BRIT Trust.
Officially, Oct. 5, 2022, marks the 60th anniversary of the release of the original James Bond movie, Dr. No. That film introduced Sean Connery as the original Bond, and to this day, he remains a favorite for many fans of the franchise. We have seen a variety of Bonds suiting up as 007 in the years since, with Connery followed by George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan, and Daniel Craig. Last year’s No Time to Die marked the final film of Craig’s run as he has now retired from playing that role.
Who the next James Bond will be in Bond 26 remains to be seen, as it could take a while before a casting announcement comes from the franchise producers. For now, the focus is on the celebration of 60 years worth of Bond movies. It’s not clear exactly how long the 25 films will be streaming on Prime Video, but they will all be made available to stream starting on Oct. 5, the official day of the anniversary.
