While Marvel multiverse cameos are the main source of rumors at the moment, DC has their own character crossovers coming, according to reports about Shazam! Fury of the Gods. Star Rachel Zegler has now added to whispers that Gal Gadot will be making an appearance as Wonder Woman in the movie, which now arrives in cinemas this Christmas. While there is obviously no official confirmation of the rumors, Warner Bros. does seem to be attempting to add some kind of connecting thread through the upcoming DCEU projects, and having Wonder Woman drop in would help make that connection with Shazam’s sequel.

In the new issue of Empire Magazine, Zegler was discussing her upcoming appearance in Disney’s live-action remake of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, which also stars Gadot as the evil Queen. During the interview, the young actress hinted that she has previously worked with Gadot on screen, which could only be in the new DC movie. She told the magazine:

Having had a very limited run of movie appearances so far, there is not really much room to doubt that Zegler is referring to her role alongside Helen Mirren and Lucy Liu in Shazam! Fury of the Gods. Having originally been scheduled for release in 2023, the Shazam! sequel became the only movie in Warner Bros. recent release shuffle to be pulled forward, being one of the only upcoming movies that is practically complete and ready to go. While there is still a lot of unknowns about Shazam! Fury of the Gods, there have been a lot of images seen from the set as well as little bits of information leaked by the cast.

“I’m not going to say much, but [filming Snow White] wasn’t our first meeting.”

Shazam! Fury of The Gods Trailer Not Expected To Arrive Until Autumn Despite Jump in Release Date

While we will likely have to wait until Shazam! Fury of the Gods is released in December to find out if Gal Gadot does indeed make an appearance in the movie, fans are hoping that a trailer will be released well ahead of the film. However, director David F. Sandberg recently said that he doesn’t know when the trailer might drop, but almost confirmed that this year’s DC FanDome event will feature footage from Shazam’s sequel. With the event usually arriving at the end of summer, beginning of fall that is still quite a wait for those desperate to see something from the new movie.

That said, Dwayne Johnson’s Shazam spin-off movie, Black Adam, was one of the films pushed back in the schedule, now arriving at the end of July. Considering the connection between the two movies, there is a good chance that Warner Bros. might choose to drop a first trailer or at least a teaser around the same time. Whenever the trailer does finally drop, there is certainly a lot of enthusiasm around the movie, with Zachary Levy and his fellow co-stars having raved about the second movie being better than the first and well worth the three-year wait.
