News flash: Peter Parker is Spider-Man. The big reveal comes from Daily Bugle editor J. Jonah Jameson, as we previously saw in a post-credit sequence from Spider-Man: Far from Home. Having his secret identity revealed is what prompts Peter’s attempts to alter the past in the new sequel Spider-Man: No Way Home with disastrous consequences.

Jameson, once again played by J.K. Simmons, has long been hoping to reveal the “menace” that is Spider-Man’s true identity to the world. To help promote No Way Home, there were Daily Bugle pop-up stands put up in New York City this week with in-universe print issues of the exposé. Comicbook.com has since published a full transcription of the editorial, and you can read it in its entirety below.

“Maniac. Menace. Mystery? No more! That’s right, true Buglers! Ever since the masked marauder masquerading as Spider-Man dangled with impunity above our city streets – without a permit, might I add – and took the law into his own web-covered hands, yours truly worked tirelessly to de-mask the myth and reveal the truth. And now we have. Peter Parker. Just a boy.

And now that the coward has been unmasked, will he do his civic duty and answer for his egregious crimes? Will he use his great power to join the police force? The fire department? Fat chance! Will Peter Parker take responsibility for the vandalism and destruction of property those powers have left smoking in his wake? Ha! Don’t make me laugh!

Parker wore a mask because he refuses to answer for his actions. He kept his identity hidden because he views himself as above the law. But if the Constitution doesn’t allow citizens to vote until they’ve reached the age of 18, why would we continue to let a child decide who is saved and who is guilty?

We know he’s made mistakes before. Just ask Quentin Beck. Oh, wait, you can’t! ‘Cause Spidey killed him!

So if you don’t want to be next, dear reader, join me in this call to the unmasked red-tight-wearing monster:Peter Parker, we are the public, and we will be YOUR judge and YOUR jury. Call the tip line, folks. Let Parker know you’re watching.

J. Jonah Jameson, Editor in Chief”

In Spider-Man: No Way Home, Peter becomes so concerned about the big changes that come with having his true identity revealed that he enlists the help of Doctor Strange to go back in time. This results in the fracturing of the multiverse, and various villains come in from different universes who’ve died fighting other incarnations of Spider-Man. This includes Alfred Molina’s Doc Ock, Jamie Foxx’s Electro, and Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin. Of course, there are rampant rumors that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield will also appear in the movie, even if it’s not officially confirmed.

This will certainly be one of the most ambitious superhero movies of all time, and that’s the same even without Maguire and Garfield. There may also be much more of Holland yet to come, as there are reports that he will appear in another planned trilogy of movies as Peter Parker. For now, we can finally see what happens in No Way Home when the anticipated movie is finally released in theaters on Dec. 17.
