Quentin Tarantino’s debut feature film Reservoir Dogs is getting the 4K treatment for the very first time. Lionsgate has announced plans to release the 4K Blu-ray for the movie in commemoration of its 30th anniversary this year. Along with a regular edition 4K Blu-ray, a special SteelBook version will also be released, each with its own exclusive cover artwork. They’ll be arriving on Nov. 15, 2022.

Tarantino directed the film and co-wrote the screenplay with Roger Avary. Lawrence Bender produced, while executive producers include Richard H. Gladstein, Monte Hellman, and Ronna B. Wallace. Harvey Keitel was a co-producer. The film stars Tim Roth, Michael Madsen, Steve Buscemi, Harvey Keitel, Chris Penn, Edward Bunker, Kirk Baltz, Quentin Tarantino, and Lawrence Tierney.

Reservoir Dogs Remains a Favorite for Quentin Tarantino Fans

After three decades, Quentin Tarantino has since worked on many other films, but Reservoir Dogs still remains a favorite for many fans of the famous filmmaker. Because its legacy has endured, Tarantino had even considered remaking the film as his final movie. He ultimately decided against that idea, and perhaps that is best, as many fans feel that the original could not be topped — even by the co-writer and director of the film, who is now one of Hollywood’s most revered directors.

“That’s kind of a capture time in the moment kind of thing, but I actually considered doing a remake of Reservoir Dogs as my last movie,” Tarantino said on Real Time with Bill Maher last year. “I won’t do it, internet! But I considered it.”

There will always be the original movie, which is getting this special new release in 4K just in time for the holidays. The 4K Blu-ray release for Reservoir Dogs will include the following special features:
